Tonight was out 1st March of Dimes support group. There was about 12 people there, which was more than I had expected for the first time. We all had some great ideas, and already have our first event planned, just have to put a few finishing touches on.
We all had our own personal touch with the meeting, some were parents of premature babies, some had suffered the loss of an infant, and others were there for support to everyone. It was great. I think that we all came together and felt better when everyone realized we were there for the same reason.
We want to make sure that everyone realizes that this meeting is open to ANYONE! If you have had a premature child, a child with a birth defect, suffered the loss of a child, or if you are just there for support we welcome you with open arms.
We will hold monthly meeting, and we hope that each month more and more people can attend to help make this a huge success.
We would like to get two other counties involved with us, Guernsey, and Washington, so we are going to do everything in our power to spread the awareness, and welcome anyone to come and join us.
Right now, we are going to just get through the holidays, get the awareness out there, and then at the beginning of the new year we will start our fundraising. We have lots in mind.
We hope that this will be a great success for everyone.
